You may know the teachers who work with your children every day at DLE, but did you know there are paraprofessional educators on our campus who provide different kinds of support to our Lions? Each week, Paw Prints featured one of our wonderful paraprofessionals so we could get to know these important members of our school community. Thank you to all of the wonderful paraprofessionals who make a difference at DLE!
FBISD libraries are sponsoring their second annual BookaPalooza event on April 29, and we would like to see as many of our DLE students and families attend as possible.
This event is a fun, FREE, family-friendly event meant to support our students' love of reading. Planned activities include authors' panels, displays, games/gaming, a book fair, food trucks, and cosplay.
Although the event is free, tickets are limited. Click here to request tickets.

Help us spoil the staff at DLE with a room service cart full of goodies!
Have you given your time, in any way, throughout the school year? Leonetti Staff would like to say “Thank You” to the many volunteers who make DLE the Greatest Place to Be!
All VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) are invited to join for a light breakfast from 8:30-9 a.m. Friday, April 21, in the DLE Cafeteria. No RSVP is necessary.
Perhaps you heard your child squealing with excitement last week when the recess equipment was refreshed! Thanks to your awesome donations throughout the year, we are now replacing the basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, playground balls, volleyballs, and jump ropes on a monthly basis! Such an easy initiative to keep our kiddos happy!
Would you like to meet current FBISD School Board members, and get to know candidates running for FBISD’s School Board this year?
This is not a political event, as the FBISD School Board election is a non-partisan election (not affiliated with any political party).
Please RSVP if you are able to attend.
The DLE PTO would like to congratulate Joshua Jenkins for being selected as the Leonetti VIPS (Volunteer in Public Schools) of the Year.
He is a full-time working father of two, serves as a kindergarten room parent, leads our Retail Donation fundraising, and regularly serves on campus through Watch D.O.G.S. Additionally, Josh is the first to step up for any volunteer request. He is so generous with his time, and puts in 100 percent effort to ensure his commitments are met.
We are so thankful to you, Josh, for your willingness to support our Lions!
The community is invited to join the spring fundraiser benefiting all Ridge Point High School sports programs. Come to golf or just for lunch!
Join us for a DLE Spirit Night at Chuck E. Cheese in Pearland from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday, March 31!
Bring the whole family for a night of fun, pizza and games! Twenty percent of all sales will be donated to Leonetti’s PTO. Print these coupons and be sure to tell them you are from DLE.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Scanning your receipts in March can earn DLE extra cash!
Buy participating products and use the “Box Tops” app to scan your store receipt.
Certain items will net you double the Box Tops this month! The app identifies eligible products and earnings are credited to your designated school online.
Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt with the Box Tops app and earn money that goes directly to DLE.
School Store will be open during recess for all grade levels on Friday, March 24. School Store is cash only.
Students can shop the Lions School Store in the spring semester on the following dates:
February 10
March 10
March 24
April 21
May 5
School Store is open during recess time for all grade levels. Sending money in a labeled ziploc bag makes it easy for kids to bring home their new toys. It’s not a must-do, but it’s helpful for the students and volunteers!
Speaking of volunteers …
School Store is run by volunteers, so sign up to be a part of the fun and help run the store. We are asking that parents commit to two back-to-back recess periods. Click here to sign up.
The store may be moved to grade-level flex spaces in the event of rain.
Propel Soccer Academy invites your soccer player(s) to play in our SPRING REC SOCCER LEAGUE (6-12 years old)!
Monday and Wednesday practices at Baines Middle School
Saturday morning games at Glenn York Elementary
First practice is March 20! Last game is May 13!
We had so much fun with our Lion community at the first-ever DLE Food Truck & Family Fun Night sponsored by the PTO!
The DLE PTO would like to extend its gratitude to the following vendors who helped make this event a success:
Tings and Wacos
Mary Had a Little Party
Mr. Softee
B&B Popcorn
… and to our Event Sponsors who donated their services:
Ridge Point High School art students for their face-painting services!
And lastly, thank you to our current PTO sponsors who hosted activities:
University Pediatric Dentistry
Mathnasium of Sienna Plantation
Leonetti Graphics
One father to a DLE student recently shared this about his experience with Watch D.O.G.S. on campus: “I truly enjoyed my interaction with the students and they were excited to have me in their presence.”
“They were very engaging on the playground during recess while we played basketball and introduced ourselves. During lunch time they talked about their favorite subjects, friends and extracurricular activities that they are participating in outside of school. I think that Watch DOGS is an excellent program and I look forward to continuing to volunteer in 2023.”
Watch D.O.G.S. is a great opportunity for dads to get involved on campus, be a role model, and support our DLE staff and students. The program provides a great amount of flexibility for those that may only be able to volunteer an hour as well as those that may be able to spend several hours serving in a given day.
All male role models are welcome to participate – fathers, step-fathers, uncles, grandfathers, etc!
