Get Involved at Donald Leonetti Elementary

We love new and returning volunteers at Donald Leonetti Elementary! The PTO offers several ways to volunteer and enrich your child's education. No matter if you work-from-home, stay-home, or have a full-time job at the office, there are so many opportunities to give back to our Lion family. If you would like to be a part of the Leonetti Lion network, you must first have a current, approved background check through FBISD.

FBISD Volunteer Background Check

All volunteer criminal history applications are inactivated annually after June 30th. If you wish to volunteer in Fort Bend ISD, in any capacity, you must update your online application after July 1 every year.

All applicants completing a volunteer criminal history application will receive an email with the approved or not approved status within five business days after application submission. Once cleared, you are welcome to sign up to volunteer at Leonetti Elementary!

There are many opportunities to help your child and all of the other students at Donald Leonetti Elementary. By completing this form, you’ll be added to our 2024-25 volunteer database and be the first to know when new opportunities arise. Even if you volunteered at DLE in prior years, we encourage you to re-register as the PTO is updating our active volunteer lists after the recent boundary changes. Please know that registering here doesn’t commit you to any specific role, but allows you the ability to see all options and choose what fits your schedule best. Library Helpers Needed
Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Perez, needs our help! We need volunteers to help reshelve books and possibly help her in other areas of the library. Sign up to volunteer.

Morning Car Assistants Needed
We want our drop off to run smoothly with some extra help from YOU! If you have an hour to commit before getting your day started and would like to welcome our students out of their cars, we have a volunteer opportunity for you! Sign up to volunteer.

October VIPS of the Month: Wendy Bethancourt

"I love the welcoming environment of DLE. My favorite way to volunteer is shelving books for our librarian," Wendy said. "It's so peaceful in the library, and I know that I'm making a difference for the kids."

September VIPS of the Month: Bridget Gagis 

"My favorite thing about Leonetti is the culture created around the pride that comes with being a Leonetti Lion," said Bridget. "I see it demonstrated by teachers, staff, and students alike and it fosters a great community for learning and growth.
I enjoy my role in volunteering because allows me to feel like I can make an impact in helping the school reach success throughout the year. I love to see my daughter’s face light up when I tell her that I will be helping out her school. The team of Leonetti PTO and volunteers is strong and dedicated and it brings me joy to be a part of it."

August VIPS of the Month: Amirose Varughese 

"My favorite thing about Leonetti is the incredible people I have met. It’s inspiring to see the dedication from our staff and volunteers to make sure our kids have amazing experiences. Which leads as to why I enjoy volunteering," Amirose said. "I love having the opportunity to connect with my daughter’s teachers, classmates as well as other parents. I love contributing to making a positive environment for our students. Plus, it’s a joy to see my daughter’s excitement when she sees me involved."

April VIPS of the Month

Our VIPS for the Month of April is Sara Bartolone!

Since moving to the Sienna community last September, Sara and her family have embraced Leonetti Elementary as their new home. They appreciate the school's excellent academic environment, the dedicated teachers, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Sara has watched her daughter thrive and has made lifelong friends within the Leonetti community.

Sara loves volunteering because it allows her to support the school, share her talents, and be part of something big. She enjoys collaborating with teachers, staff, and the PTO to enhance the school experience for everyone.

The DLE PTO would like to congratulate Jenn Penick for being selected as the Leonetti VIPS (Volunteer in Public Schools) of the Year. Jenn guides our grade level coordinators and room parents, as well as serves as a committed volunteer at DLE events. You may have had the pleasure of running into in the car line, where she regularly greets everyone with a smile! She truly helps make DLE the "Greatest place to be!"
