VIPS of the Month December 2023 and January 2024

VIPS of the Month

Our VIPS of the month for December and January Wendy Bethancourt and Rochelle Hayes.

December VIPS of the Month  |  Wendy Bethancourt

Wendy has been at Leonetti since it opened and has gone through Leonetti with all of her kids. This is the first year she’s had all her kids in school, and she really wanted to get involved and start volunteering. Wendy has taken ownership of the lost and found and has been a dedicated library helper this year. She is happy to be able to help in any way. Wendy’s favorite thing about volunteering at Leonetti is how friendly everyone is. She loves all the smiles and greetings she gets from her kids and their classmates. She has made many friends through volunteering.

January VIPS of the Month  |  Rochelle Hayes

Rochelle’s kids have gone to Leonetti for the past two years, and what she appreciates most are the most caring, proactive, and encouraging teachers. She believes they genuinely want the best for her boys, and she couldn’t be happier. Rochelle loves helping others. She is motivated by seeing positive outcomes, so if she can put one of her talents to work to put smiles on the children’s faces, she’s all in.

Nominations due by February 26

It's time to select our Volunteer of the Year for Leonetti Elementary! Do you know someone who has graciously, and consistently, given their time and talents to DLE during the 2023-24 academic year? We want to hear from you!

Things to consider when nominating a volunteer:
- Hours volunteered in the school, as well as from home
- Availability and willingness to volunteer this year
- Attitude and conduct when volunteering
- The candidate should not be last year’s Volunteer of the Year
- The candidate cannot be a current member of the PTO Board

All nominations for the Volunteer of the Year can be emailed to VIPS@dlepto.org no later than February 26. Please share the volunteer's name and 2-3 sentences explaining why you feel they deserve this district honor.
