DLE Apex Fundraiser 2026

Get ready to Power Up, Leonetti!

Our highly anticipated fall fundraiser, the DLE Obstacle Course Fun Run, officially kicks off on Monday, September 14. This initiative is facilitated by Apex Leadership Co., who will be joining us on campus over the next two weeks bringing their “Super Heroes” program to life through daily character lessons and awards from the Apex team as students learn what it takes to power up and be a true leader.

The fundraiser concludes with an obstacle course fun run on Wednesday, September 23, featuring 6 inflatable obstacles arranged along the Ronald Thorton Middle School track.   Each grade level will power through the obstacle course during their outclass period, with most students completing 7 laps for a total of 42 obstacles.

In the two weeks leading up to race day, students will ask family, friends and neighbors to sponsor them.  Supporters may give a flat donation or pledge a dollar amount per obstacle completed.  For example, 7 laps × 6 obstacles per lap = 42 obstacles, so a $1-per-obstacle pledge would total a $42 donation.  Students who are unable to run will have 40 obstacles recorded so that donors’ pledges will not be lost for that student.

Every Pledge Powers Up Leonetti!

Funds raised during the two-week event directly support programs and resources that enrich the educational experience for every Leonetti student.Your donations help fund field trips and transportation, teacher grants, classroom learning subscriptions, student experiences, and other enrichment opportunities beyond what is covered by the district.

These funds give our teachers additional tools to bring learning to life and provide our students with meaningful, hands-on experiences and opportunities that make school more engaging, memorable, and fun.

Every pledge is an investment directly back into our Lions, their classrooms, and the experiences that make Leonetti the Greatest Place to Be!

This past spring, our students and families worked together to raise funds with Apex for a dedicated on-campus sensory room equipped with therapeutic tools designed to support focus, self-regulation, and readiness for learning.

Thanks to your incredible support, that vision is now a reality! Take a look below at the new sensory room our Leonetti community helped make possible.

Students will also have plenty of opportunities to earn fun rewards along the way! As donations come in over the next two weeks, classrooms will work together to unlock Apex incentives like extra recess, dance parties, dress-up days, and more.

Students can also earn individual prizes from Apex based on the amount they raise:

As an extra thank you to our students and families for their continued support and hard work, the PTO has teamed up with some of our generous school sponsors to offer even more chances to win! Throughout the fundraiser, students and families can qualify for the following special PTO-sponsored incentives:

We are looking for volunteers to help mark the obstacles completed by the students. Time slots will be during each grade level’s outclass period. If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up using the following link for as long as spots are still available: Leonetti Lion Obstacle Course Fun Run Volunteers.

All volunteers must have a current background check on file. No exceptions will be made. This process is quick and may be completed HERE.

Families are also invited to cheer on our Lions as spectators during the Obstacle Course Fun Run! Visitors may watch from the stands outside the track; for student safety, visitors will not be permitted on the field. A spectator sign-up will be shared with families closer to race day.
